examples
Landscape prints offered to customers are high quality, limited edition pictures with certificates of origin. Pictures protected from direct
sunlight or fluoroscent light will keep colors, contrast and all details at least 100 years. It is possible because my prints
are exposed in the traditional way on the exceptional quality paper, that major features are high contrast, strong resistance to light
fading, durability and unique (satin or pearl) surface (depending on picture size). Set in frames museum glass prevents from dust and other
impurities, it also blocks UV. Anti-reflective coating of that museum glass prevents optical interference, ensures perfect view and
natural colors of displayed pictures. Sold prints are matted with the premium quality, light colored passepartouts. These fade resistant
passepartouts are signed by myself. Frames are made of natural wood, usually 2cm (approximately 4/5") wide for A4 prints and 4cm
(approximately 8/5") wide for larger sizes. Back of each pictures is a thick carton board, there is a wall mounting system too. Strapes
of grey paper are used to cover narrow gaps between the frame and the carton board. They also protect the whole picture from dust. Each
picture has its own label on the backside. It provides information associated with the print such as image title, place, image number,
copy number (except the first copy), season, date, printing technique, exposure data, used film, etc. Please see examples below:

techniques
All prints are created in the traditional way from the very beginning. First images are exposed on color transparency films and then
scanned at 4000 DPI on Nikon Colscan 5000 ED. Photos exposed on medium-format transparency films (120, usually 6x7) are scanned on Nikon
Colscan 9000 ED. Minor color, contrast and sharpness correction of all raw scans, necessary for the largre format printing are always
done by myself. Kodak "C"-Print technology is mainly used for all picture sizes. This well-known process is based upon a color negative and
extremely light sensitive silver salts, in order to form the high resolution color images. Landscape prints up to size of A4 (approximately 12"x8")
are mainly produced by:
- Agfa D-lab 2 Plus
- Canon iPF8300
Larger sizes, for example A3 (approximately 18"x12") or A2 (approximately 24"x16") are mainly produced by:
- Canon iPF8300
- Durst Lambda 130 Plus
The last is the best digital laser imager ever made. Kodak Proffesional Endura (Supra and Ultra) paper is used for exposing and Canon resin coated
photographic paper 240g/m² for high quality large prints. Some pictures look better on matte paper others on glossy one, so what sort of paper I use depends
usually on the image features. Each image is printed with a white border to easily fix it in the passpartout. Border (1/5" wide) is precisely covered
by the mat, so no one can see it. Passepartouts and carton boards are customized on demand. Picture frames and anti-reflective glass are
prepared by domestic manufacturers or craftsmen.
materials
Frames of my pictures are made of natural wood (the african balsa familly, beech, larch) in color of ebony, cherry, light mahogany,
alder, beech or similar. For small picture sizes I use ready-made products. The standard procedure then is to exchange shipped glazing
with anti-reflective glass. Large wood frames are made individually for the given print. Materials of ICAR Frame Factory or Carlson &
Piechocki manufactory are used all the time. A 2mm thick (approximately 2/25") Clear Color (Plus) museum glass, by Nielsen
Design GmbH & Co. KG is used for all landscape prints. Landscape prints are matted with acid-free passepartouts of premium quality.
A white core matboards of all my pictures are 1.6mm thick (approximately 7/100") and produced by the italian manufacturer
Scapi Cartoni s.r.I. and Bainbrige. This mat is recommended for decorating limited edition prints and fine-art originals. For my works I
prefer materials in whites like navajo white, ivory, sand, cream, light grey, antique white and similar.
